The Flatcoated Retriever Club of Scotland
Fun Day 2003
We decided to try a new venue this year that had an indoor arena so
we were not affected in the event of inclement weather. However the weather on
the day was glorious with just one short period of heavy rain. As a result all
the activities with the exception of the agility and the Good Citizens Bronze
Award were completed outside in the sunshine.
The venue proved to be hard to find even with the excellent
directions supplied by Sheila as the location was about 2 miles of the beaten
track at the back of an ex MOD storage area. A few people said they were late
due to this difficulty but I’m sure some of these were just late in getting out
of bed!!
Many congratulations must go to Sheila Roache for putting the time
and effort in organising the day. This was particularly hard this year due to
change in venue. However the effort was very worthwhile as everybody enjoyed
the day.
Although this was a Flatcoat Fun Day it was not restricted
to just Flatcoats so it was good to see people bring their flatties as well as
other breeds such as Rotteweilers, Golden Retrievers and the Heinz 57
varieties.
