The Flatcoated Retriever Club of Scotland

Inter Club 2005 Working Test

The third Working Test between The Flatcoated Retriever Society, The Northern England Flatcoated Retriever Association (NEFRA) and The Flatcoated Retriever Club of Scotland (FRCS) took place on Saturday 30th July at the Baitlaw Estate near Abingdon in Scotland by kind permission of Mr Maxwell-Stuart.

The day was extremely overcast with rain for the first hour and a strong wind for most of the day. However this did not dampen the team spirits as everybody enjoyed themselves with the dogs having the most fun.

The format of the day was each team ran a dog in Puppy, Novice, Intermediate and Open. The judges John Stewart(131) and Ann Faulds set a series of four tests for each of the groups which included some of the following:

·        Marked retrieve

·        Double retrieve

·        Blind retrieve and marked retrieve

·        Marked retrieve with a distraction

·        Water retrieve

·        Water retrieve with a distraction

Congratulations go to The Flatcoated Retriever Club of Scotland as they won the day. It was the Scottish Clubs first ever win at a competitive working test!!
